spelling is important

I just read through a story written by one of my students. After she got off the pain (plane) she ate a snake (snack). Oh, my, that must have been interesting!

antsy

My students are antsy antsy antsy. Once they finish their test, they can't do anything (not even read). There are three students still testing, and the rest are about to implode.

So Much to Do, So Much Other Stuff to Do

So I’m really wishing that I could make a career out of my hobbies. The problem is that I probably could, but I would most likely have to choose just one. Right now I’m in a creative mood, but I don’t have near enough time to work on everything and still keep my job. On my current list are:

  1. Write a book.
  2. Finish the book I’m already working on.
  3. Make an online portfolio.
  4. Redesign begrace.org.
  5. Write and record a new song… or two… or three… or four.
  6. Finish writing and recording the many partial songs that I have laying around.
  7. Learn how to use Live 5, my digital recording software.
  8. Learn how to sing better.
  9. Work on my piano skillz (or lack thereof).
  10. Teach Brooke guitar.
  11. Lose weight / get in shape.

Okay, so, as you can see, I probably don’t have the time or the energy to do even half of the stuff that I want to do. So, I’ll probably just continue being mediocre at a lot of different things. Or, I can quit my job and become a professional hobbiest for about a month until Brooke and I starve. Well, at least I can check “blog” off of the list…

Women Who Hate

So I work with a bunch of ladies who hate men. And I’m getting pretty sick of hearing them dog on guys so much. Okay, so most guys are total losers. But not all of us, and not all the time. I just wanted to take a moment and say that it makes me really mad sometimes. So, there you have it. Blatant, categorical hatred makes me angry. I guess it makes me even more angry because, in order to fight the hatred, I can’t stick up for men, because then they just think I’m being defensive. Which I am, but somehow I’m not allowed to be. ARGH! This rant will end now, but I’m currently highly ticked.
